The Barn is to host the Lord Mayor of Birminghams Charity Gala Evening on Friday 20th January 2006.
A wonderful evening of entertainment bringing together a host of celebrities, appearing on behalf of the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Charity Appeal.
Hosted by BBC personality ED DOOLAN we are delighted to announce the biggest event ever staged at the Barn. Artistes appearing so far are BJORN AGAIN, the worlds leading ABBA Tribute Show, TV's BILLY PEARCE currently performing in Panto at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. We are delighted to welcome from CHINA, world acclaimed violinist ANALIZA CHING. From "STARS IN THEIR EYES" KENNY ROGERS by Peter White, ANASTACIA by Tracey Quinn, JERRY LEE LEWIS by Steve Wicketts. From his appearances at Symphony Hall and the BBC,LAURIE HORNSBY. Laurie is a well known musical writer, performer and publicist.
International vocal act DAZLYN and local personality Dave Chance will be amongst several other artistes together with the Alan Warner Orchestra, all appearing for the Lord Mayors chosen charities.
The Royal National Institute of the Blind, a charity helping people live with sight loss. The RNIB helps people to rebuild their lives. With offices based in John Bright Street the RNIB provides support to children and adults in Birmingham and beyond.
Acorns Children's Hospice, whose work focuses on their Selly Oak Hospice which has been caring for life limited children and their families for the last 18 years. Children at Acorns are aged from birth to 19 years and are suffering from a life limited condition. The Selly Oak Hospice is a ten bedded unit and children stay there for respite, emergency and terminal care. There is no charge for the service.
Leonard Cheshire Services in Birmingham, based at the Greenacres Cheshire Home in Sutton Coldfield, works with disabled people, regardless of their colour, race or creed by providing the environment necessary for each individual's physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
The Women's Campaign, at the Birmingham Women's Hospital aims to raise £1.5m to ensure that the Hospital can finance items or projects which would not otherwise be funded, while continuing to provide exceptional care for all patients and their families and an excellent working environment for the staff, ie research and developing new cancer treatments, specialist equipment for caring for tiny babies, new baby cots, baby heart monitors, etc.
